Battery Size

The source of power for drones is usually from batteries. The capacity of the cells thus determines how long you can keep the drone in the air. If you wish to fly the drone for extended periods, you have to choose one with large battery size. Most beginner drones allow for a flight time of between five to 30 minutes, but the professional ones can fly for longer. You can also get extra batteries so that you can swap them as they drain and continue operating. One other consideration to make for the cells is the charging speed. Those that charge using the fast-charge technology are a better choice.

Camera

To capture the best images and videos from your drone, you need to ensure that it has a camera that is good enough to do so. This means that you have to consider the specifications and features of the camera. Check the megapixels, ISO, shutter speed, and frame rate and ensure that they meet your minimum requirements. Examples of elements that you can consider include the protection system and water resistance.

Range

The drone’s range determines the distance to which you can control your drone. Each drone model will have a specified range, usually between 5 and 150 meters for the beginner drones and a lot more for the advanced drones. Your intended use is what should influence your choice. If, for example, you intend to use it for surveying land, you will choose one with a range that can cover the entire area that you want to survey.

Spare Parts

Just like any other mechanical device, your drone will need some form of maintenance from time to time. This is more of the case if you do not have a lot of experience in flying drones as you are likely to crash it several times.
